Avoiding Chemicals in My Products

I hate chemicals so I avoid them as much as possible.
To this end ....I make my own stuff :)

"Tide"-- 2 cups baking soda, 2 cups washing soda and 1 shredded  bar of Zote, Fels naptha or Ivory soap.  Zote comes preshredded so it's easier! Walmart only carries the preshredded online but they have free delivery to the store.
I use plain white vinegar as a fabric softener.

Dish liquid-- baking soda and water.

All purpose cleaner- vinegar and water with a few drops of tea tree oil. No, it doesn't leave a vinegar smell.

Shampoo- baking soda in water with a few drops of orange essential oil.
I have found a few safe to use shampoos that don't break the bank... Suave in the green bottle is one and Target puts it on sale a lot.... If you buy 4 you get a $5 gift card...

Lotion- coconut or olive oil.

Face cleaner - witch hazel

Toothpaste- coconut oil and baking soda. ( I avoid fluoride, a known cancer causing chemical.  Fluoride also blocks saliva from getting to your teeth to clean them. There is no proof at all that fluoride prevents cavities but there are is tons of proof that saliva does. Besides the number of people who die each year from fluoride poisoning!)

 Just a cute pic
.

Face powder- cornstarch with a brush. You can add cinnamon, a little at a time, to warm it up a bit. Dollar Tree carries a glass jar that works well to store it.

Dry shampoo- cornstarch. Sprinkle it on and brush well.

Bath soaks- oatmeal or sugar mixed with coconut oil. Add your favorite essential oil for scent.  These make great gifts too. ( you are saving all your glass jars aren't you?)

That's what's on my shelves. Yours?
